Your dog is family too! We’re delighted to welcome dogs at the cottage, on a case-by-case basis. If you would like to bring your dog, please include the breed, age, and any other helpful information in your booking inquiry. 

• There is a flat-rate pet fee of $90 per booking. 

• Dogs that are not discussed and confirmed prior to arrival are not permitted on the property.

• Your dog must be completely house trained to go outside (no pee-pads) and well-behaved overall.

• You are responsible for picking up after your dog and properly disposing of their waste.

• In consideration and respect to other guests with allergies, dogs must not sleep on any of the beds.

• Cats are not permitted on the property under any circumstances.

Fawn Lake is great for swimming! Our waterfront is shallow and sandy, with no rocks or weeds.

The water levels are constantly changing, but the depth at the end of the dock is typically around 3-4ft deep. 

There are no strong currents, no steep drops, and the lake does not have any connecting rivers or streams. Generally speaking, it is a very safe lake for swimming and is favoured by families with children or anyone looking to relax by a calm lake. 

Due to strict insurance policy regulations, fire hazards, and overall cleanliness, this is an entirely non-smoking property.

Fawn Lake Cottage has the fastest fibre-optic Wi-Fi available in all of Muskoka.

On average, our speed tests show 900-1000 mbps, and our internet package is advertised as up to 1500 mbps.

It is perfect for remote work, and capable of handling HD video calls, browsing, and streaming in 4K simultaneously.

While we don’t offer standard discounts, there are several situations where we do offer preferred pricing. 

Returning guests receive preferred pricing on all stays. We are occasionally able to offer discounts on extended stays outside of the summer season (October - May) and discounts for couples and solo guests. 

We no longer use Airbnb, which allows us to avoid the platform’s high service fees and markups. As a result, our direct booking rates are approximately 30% lower than when the property was listed on Airbnb. Our rates are already set lower than any comparable property listed on Airbnb, and we believe they are fair - the cottage has been fully booked for the past 18 months.

Our maximum guest capacity varies based on several factors relevant to your unique reservation, including the season, duration of your stay, guest ages, pets, etc.

Generally speaking, Fawn Lake Cottage can comfortably sleep 7 guests;

• Bedroom #1 - King Bed, sleeps 2

• Bedroom #2 - Queen Bed, sleeps 2

• Bedroom #3 - Bunk Bed, double on the bottom, sleeps 2 + twin on the top, sleeps 1 child

As seen in the listing photos, a quiet dirt road runs between the cottage and the waterfront; it is a dead-end road that is only used by a small handful of neighbouring cottages on the other side of the lake. Traffic is minimal and our little local community is very respectful; when the occasional car passes by, they drive very slowly and often wave hello too! The waterfront portion of the property is quite large - one of the largest on the lake - and combined with the gentle slope towards the beach, it feels very private and separate from the road. 

As with any rural road, children should always be supervised and cross with an adult.
